Nevada Pedestrian Right-of-Way Laws
Crosswalk Right of Way (NRS 484B.283)
Drivers must yield to pedestrians at all marked crosswalks and at all unmarked crosswalks at intersections. An unmarked crosswalk exists at every intersection where two roads meet, even if there are no painted lines. This means pedestrians have the right of way at virtually every intersection in Las Vegas.
Pedestrian Signals (NRS 484B.283)
When a pedestrian signal shows "Walk" or a walking person symbol, pedestrians may proceed. When it shows "Don't Walk" or a raised hand, pedestrians should not begin crossing — but a pedestrian who has already begun crossing may finish.
Jaywalking (NRS 484B.287)
Pedestrians who cross the road outside of a crosswalk or against a traffic signal must yield to vehicles. However, even when a pedestrian jaywalks, drivers are still required to exercise reasonable care to avoid hitting them. A jaywalking pedestrian can still recover damages if the driver was also negligent.
Duty of Care (NRS 484B.280)
Nevada law requires all drivers to exercise due care to avoid colliding with pedestrians. Drivers must give an audible warning with their horn when necessary and exercise special caution around school zones, bus stops, and crosswalks.

Nevada follows a modified comparative negligence rule under NRS 41.141, which means you can still recover damages as long as you are less than 50 percent at fault.
